The First Line is a love story about two Greek lawyers who fight for the reunification of the Parthenon Marbles and find redemption and transcendence through their eternal message. At its core, The First Line is about the test of true love through sacrifice.
The film stars newcomers Pantelis Kodogiannis and Kassandra Voyagis. The film co-stars Paul Freeman (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Hot Fuzz), Michael Byrne (Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, Braveheart, The Sum of All Fears) , and Giancarlo Giannini (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Hannibal).
The film was shot in Greece, England, and the United States in the Winter of 2013. The filmmakers were given exclusive permission to film on the Ancient Athenian Acropolis and inside the Acropolis Museum.
The film was written, produced, and directed by Coerte and John Voorhees. Coerte is a graduate of Georgetown University and current MFA candidate at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. John is a graduate of Brown University and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.. The First Line is their first feature film.
The film opened in Athens, Greeece in November 2014 and is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom in 2015. Special screenings are being planned worldwide.
